Premises of indonesiaherbals.com raided by Indonesian authorities

The premises, that indonesiaherbals.com lists as address on their website (Jalan Seser 72) were now raided by local authorities, as has been reported in two daily newspapers in Medan. For clippings of these reports, please see here.

One of the two dailies also has a website where the report has been posted. The URL is:

The contraband of indonesiaherbals is a substance which they are selling as 1:200 tongkat ali extract, but is neither defined, nor controlled, nor tested fit for human consumption. It's anything but 1:200 tongkat ali extract.

Their address was raided because Indonesian authorities were concerned about the health of Indonesian consumers being endangered by Mafia-style operations, selling some herbal concoctions with dangerous side effects, but no medicinal use whatsoever.

But after already having been raided, why are they still offering their wares on the Internet? For one thing, they are very careful not to sell anything in Indonesia. They do not even answer mail if they suspect that it is connected in any way with Indonesia.

When their facilities were raided by local authorities, none of the contraband they are offering on their website has been found.

Towards Indonesian authorities, they claim that they have never been selling any tongkat ali extract, and that their website only serves the purpose of testing the market, and that anyway, it is not maintained.

Alas, I have definite proof that do sell products of which they claim it's 1:200 tongkat ali extract.

Those involved have a Mafia-style frame of mind. The Mafia also does not stop operations when they are investigated by the police. They play cat-and-mouse with the police, but definitely continue illegal operations, because that is where their money comes from.

Anyway, indonesiaherbals.com only target potential victims outside of Indonesia, and law enforcement would have to take a long route to ever endanger them. Only after distributors of their contraband in the US or Europe are sentenced in a court of law, will the Indonesian legal system pick up the case. This will take time, but my prognosis is that it will happen.
